Quality of life and death

Is it true that he quality of life determines the quality of death?

Any thoughts on the above statement?

Hello,

I am not sure what you mean by quality of death. Do you mean the cause of the death or the life after death?

In Islam there is no dichotomy between this life and the hereafter. It is a continuum of eternity. If a person lives a life of total submission, he experiences paradise in this life as much as he would experience it in the hereafter. As a matter of fact, death does not exist. However if a person does not live a life of total submission, he is not prepared for the hereafter and experiences "purifying hellfire" upon death after which he enters paradise.

Some people are purified in this life through trials and tribulations such as deseases etc and upon death they enter paradise. The destiny of life is returning to where we came from i.e., God or paradise. It is a matter of when that happens, whether in this life or hereafter.

As we learn from different Al-Waez, that people do expereince different kinds of deaths. Some people suffer for years and others die without any suffering. According to a Waez that I heard by Al-Waez Babul, he says the manner in which we spend our lives on this earth has a great impact on the manner in which the soul leaves the body.

Thank you very much for your reply. I meant the departing of the soul. Some people die peacefully and some suffer a lot. Am I right in saying that at the time of the death it is the body that suffers and not the soul? Can soul suffer?

Hello Diva,

Those who have gone through the Near Death Experience (NDE) after being resuscitated to life from almost death have said that they were not aware of the impact of pain, i.e., it was blanked out.

James Van Praagh who is a well known for his communication with the spirits of the departed in seance sessions, says that the souls were not aware of the impact of the experience that caused violent deaths. You may want to read his book "Talking to Heaven".
