Does rags are important then the wordkng of ginans ?
Why we give more importance to a rags which are totally composed on filmi songs?
Do we really knows the original rags set by our pirs? Are we follow those rags?
Offcourse not then why bro/sister are yoh asking rags for a above ginan? Join any ginan class and you will find rags, but it will not its original rags!
Sad to say but we are forgetting ginans original rags and started to accepting rags whicn are filmi sons tune!
We have forget why pirs had selected particar rags for one particular ginan?
We also forget when the particular ginan should be recite? and when not?
Good luck but if you really want to know the original rags then, as per SMS"s instruction: "folllw Junaghat" so get in touch with some lne over there rather then looking here?

The Raag are as important as the wordings. And yes the Raag of most of the Ginans are known from the existing manuscripts where the name of the raagas is given for each ginan.....

And yes the Raag of Junagadh of that time of Mowlana Sultan Muhammad Shah is unfortunately very different from the raag of Junagadh of today but that raag is still recited in some cities.

It is unfortunate that the Raagas became corrupted in the Indo-Pak subcontinent as they started changing the words, It was bound to happen for them, they lost the purity of the compositions. Elsewhere in many cities of Africa and even in the West those words were preserved

I know but may be other readers can acquainted to the importance of our ginans, I ask you:
Why the ragas "Shikhrani" or "Mandakanta" were composed? in which ginans we can find it?
What is meaning of " aarti " Do we have any ginans on aarti? Does aarti is a rag?
