Recent Ismaili Acheivements in Fields of Academia

Post by ShamsB »

I've noticed that on here..we're more interested in the nonacademic pursuits of our ismailies..eg..someone wanted to know if any film actors or producers or directors were ismailies and now we're talking about a racing car driver..whilst I say more power to them..

let's also look at those Ismailies who have made strides and achievements of Ismailies in Academics and the Sciences..

I guess I'll start..with

Dr. Parin Winter..- She just got a Bush Fellowship
Prof. Amin Amershi - Head of Finance Faculty at McMasters University.(I could be wrong on the faculty).

Let's add other Ismailies that have made notable acheivements in the recent past in Academia and try to use them as role models of our Ismaili youth.

Its a nice idea, but there could be way too many people to fill the list. (I know, more the better). But how would you define the criteria? Anyway, this sounds like a great project to unofficially list the names of Ismailis achieving recognition in the field of academics. I would be surprised if someone is already not working on it.

Frankly I am surprised at the statement...it is okay for us to talk about folks we surmise are Ismailies..folks in the entertainment fields however if we bring up other issues, we are pointed to other sites?
