Khat Niranjan
Khat Niranjan - Highest Unseen
A Daring Composition By Pir Sadardin
New Service To Be Launched Soon
Our Pirs were well known for their sheer physical courage. Fulfilling missionary work in hostile territory is not for the faint at heart. However, Pir Sadardin's Khat Niranjan granth composition demonstrates an additionally different type of boldness - a breathtaking intellectual and spiritual audacity.
Khat Niranjan courageously attempts to explain the very beginning of the creation process. One can say even beyond the very beginning, even before the Big Bang Event.
The Big Bang Theory is the prevailing scientific explanation of how the Universe began 14 billion years ago. During Pir Sadardin's time 500 years ago this scientific paradigm did not even exist. That did not stop Pir Sadardin to courageously ask a separate question - a spiritual inquiry - into why it all came into existence and a related question about the nature of God. Science tries to answer the question of "how"? Spiritual inquiry addresses the question of "why"? Why did it come into existence, what is the purpose? The "how" (science) and "why" (spiritual) are totally separate legitimate questions and not at all in conflict even though they are pursued with very different methodologies.
The difficult task of explaining the origin of God is tackled in the most simple and understandable way. Pir Sadardin eloquently presents the concept of the dual aspect of the same One God (God the Attributes - Creator, Merciful, Beneficient and God the Essence - Undefinable, Formless).
Khat Niranjan is a bold and daring composition in the finest tradition of Ismaili intellectual spiritual inquiry and contemplation.
JollyGul.com will launch its Khat Niranjan service very soon. The granth has a total of 260 verses. The whole recitation is eloquently delivered by Saima Hirani. The transliteration and translations are brilliantly executed by Karim Maherali - it took Karim 3 months to complete the task specifically for this launch. The JollyGul.com Audio Player will display running line to line lyrics and translations as the recitation progresses.
Khat Niranjan means the Highest Unseen referring to the Divine Essence from which the entire creation is brought into existence. Pir Sadardin guides the murids on how they can apply his "Khat Niranjan" conceptual framework for the practice of their faith under the leadership of Imam-e-Zaman.
This Granth can be divided into 3 parts: the first part deals with how the Khat Niranjan brought about the creation, the second part deals with the correct and false methods of worship and the third part deals with the narration of Khat Niranjan assuming 10 manifestations known as Das Avtars to fulfill the work and aspirations of the devotees through the four Yugas (time periods).
Khat Niranjan granth take-home message is that creation has a grand purpose for the elevation of souls and not for any other trivial purpose.

Re: Khat Niranjan
Transliteration and Translation: Verses 1-49
Eji Anant joog aage vahi gayaa
tyaare aapohi aap Niranjan rahyaa 1
Countless ages have gone by when the Unseen and Formless was alone by himself.
Tyaare jamin aasmaan na hotaa koi
tyaare aapohi aap Nirinjan soi 2
At that time the earth and the heavens did not exist. Then only the Unseen and Formless existed.
Tyaare dhandhukaar maanhe dharyaa dhyaan
tyaare hete upaayaa Brahm Ginaan 3
Then, in the void He contemplated. Then, He established Divine knowledge and wisdom with love.
Ginaani ginaan vichaari joy
tyaare aapohi aap Nirinjan soy 4
The wise and knowledgeable should reflect upon the Divine knowledge and wisdom. Then spontaneously the Unseen will become understood or apparent.
Tyaare japtaa japtaa bahu joog gayaa
tyaare aatth karann avichal rahyaa 5
At that time, in continuous remembrance many ages went by. Then, for eight karans He remained in a timeless and eternal state.
Tyaare aatth laakh karann maanhe aparampar Hari
tyaare het icchhaa man maanhe dhari 6
At that time, for eight lakh karans only the eternal and limitless God existed. Then, He had a loving desire in His mind.
Tyaare aapnne hete pari Brahm
bimbaa kaarann levaa aasharam 7
At that time, the Supreme God in loving manner, for the sake of the establishing the Reflection (Light of Piratan), He assumed an abode.
Tyaare sinter hajaar varas-j gayaa
tyaare bimbaa kaaraj bhayaa 8
At that time seventy thousand years went by , then he fulfilled the deeds and request of the Pir.
Tyaare Nirinjan Nar-e mayaa kari
so bimb raakhyo naabh-j dhari 9
Then the Unseen and Formless created the illusory existence and the Pir maintained his concentration at the navel only.
Tyaare hast kamarr thi karyaa vyaas
Alakh Nirinjan aapohi aap 10
Then by his right hand He made the Sage, the Indescribable and Unseen spontaneously by himself.
Chhatris joog choraasi chokaddiun em kartaa gayaa
tyaare ek dhyaan-sun Nar aape rahyaa 11
Thirty six yugas and eighty four chokaddis were spent in that manner. At that time, the Master remained in full attention by Himself
Tyaare satpanth to avichal rahyaa
so bimb to parsotam thayaa 12
Then the True Path remained in an eternal and everlasting state and the Pir acquired Divine qualities.
Tyaare Macchh Niraalambh aaraan kari
tyaare Brahmaaji raakhyaa naabh-j dhari 13
At that time the Absolute Independent God rested, then the Pir remained focused at the navel.
Tyaare kar joddi Brahmaaji kahe
Saami sunkaarr maanhe aapnne beh 14
Then folding his hands the Pir says: Lord in the void we are two of us .
Tunhi maat Tunhi taat Kirtaar
Tunhi Nirinjan Niraakaar 15
You are my mother, You are my father and Creator You the Unknowable and Formless.
Sat bolo Saami saachu kaho
amne upaayaa te kaarann kaho 16
Tell the truth O Lord, tell me the truth. For what reason did you create me?
Tyaare aap Nirinjan bolyaa aap
Brahmaa-ne aalyo trann kaal-nu jaap 17
Then the Unknowable himself said: We have given the Pir the word of 3 time frames.
Em kartaa upaayaa Dev
tyaare Brahmaa-ne chaalyo mugat-no bhev 18
In this manner God created, and then He bestowed the mysteries for the salvation to the Pir.
Sunno Brahmaa shravann dhari
vaat anupam kahu khari 19
Listen o Pir (Creator) attentively, I relate to you a unique matter truly.
Kudrati ek karie khel
jem aap samaane aape khel 20
Perform one natural play, and according to your ability, you play.
Jugat karo Brahmaa joog maanhe jai
sakal vidhaa tamne kahi 21
Perform the method of worship after going to the world. I have given you complete instruction.
Tyaare kar joddi Brahmaaji kahe
Saami jugat karu jo mugat-j deh 22
Then the Pir with his hands folded says: O lord I will perform the method if you assure me of complete salvation
Ame joog maanhe jai karie jugat
jo Saami jiv-ne aalo mugat 23
I will go to the world and perform the method of salvation if the Lord will grant salvation to the souls
Tyaare aap Nirinjan bolyaa aap
je joog maanhe bhannshe velaa jaamp 24
Then the Unseen himself spoke: those who will reflect upon the primordial word
Dev kriyaa-ni je jaanne per
te jiv aavshe aapnne gher 25
The ones who know the meaning of the Divine rituals, those souls will come to our home
Vachan amaaraa maano sahi
jugat karo Brahmaa joog-maa jai 26
Follow our Farmans truly, Perform the method of worship o Pir having gone to the world
Tyaare aanand-e Brahmaaji-e naamyaa shish

Then the Pir joyfully bowed his head. Contemplating on this, twenty yugas passed
Tyaare het-e Brahmaaji-e dharyun dhyaan
pahelaa rachyaa jamin aasmaan 28
Then the Pir lovingly contemplated. At first he created the earth and the heavens
Pahele aasmaane utaaryaa Noor
tyaare sirajyaa chando ne sur 29
At the first heaven, he brought down the Noor. Then he created the moon and the sun
Bije aasmaane utaaryaa kavan
tyaare sirajyaa paanni ne pavan 30
At the second heaven he brought down the Ginan (Kavan means poem), Then he created water and wind
Khatt Darshan upaavyaa saar
te Alakh Niranjan Niraakaar 31
Then he established the paths leading to the Highest Vision, which is indescribable, unknowable and without form
Anant joog aage vahi gayaa
tyaare Nar Niraalambh aape rahyaa 32
Countless ages ago, the Master remained in a self-sufficient and independent state
Tyaare chatur kalap-ni saankhiyaa dhari
tyaare Brahmaaji-e srushttij kari 33
Then the All-wise had a thought about the kalap time period, then the Pir created the universe
Tyaare vaanni ved ne khaanniu chaar
rachnaa rachi te maanhe sansaar 34
Then he composed the scripture and established the four phases. He created the creation and within it the world
Tyaare roog ved to bhannyaa saar
roop dharyaa te Niranjan chaar 35
He taught the essence of the ancient scriptures. The Unseen assumed four forms
Hav, Kav, Dharam, Keshav, saar
bhagat bhanntaa Niraakaar 36
They are Hav, Kav, Dharam and Keshav the pure. The pious ones studied about the Formless
Tyaare sol joog-ni saankhiyaa dhari

Then they thought about the sixteen Yugas. The the Guide taught the word of God
Je koi bhannyaa prem-j jaamp

Those who meditated upon the Word entirely in a loving manner, these souls have freed themselves by themselves
Navaannu krodd jakh sat-e rahyaa
sampurann kalap amraapuri-maa gayaa 39
The ninety nine crores of Jakhs remained truthful. At the completion of the Kalap age they went to paradise
