What is legit is that Lisbon Didar will be open to all countries where there has not been Didar.
Not yet confirmed but it may open for all.
We know there has been a loss, these last few years, in institutional capacity at the level of the LIF and loss of organisational skills and capacity of our councils around the world and we can no longer organise open Didar for all Murids as we did for Golden Jubilee nor speak of "One" Jamat as this is no longer the case during Diamond Jubilee.

we are one jamat... during golden jubilee you are right it was more obvious that we are... murids traveled to be with their families abroad and receive didar together which was a real priviedge. this time it feels like some jamaats have been forgotten..kenya for example...

Our beloved Mawlana Hazar Imam has authorized the Ismaili Leaders’ International Forum (LIF) to inform the Jamat formally that, responding to an official invitation from the Government, he will visit Portugal in July 2018 to attend events marking the end of the Diamond Jubilee Year.
At that time, alongside engaging in official government programmes and activities, Mawlana Hazar Imam will undertake Jamati work for Portuguese jurisdiction Jamati members. Access for this purpose will be restricted to the jurisdiction Jamat.
Mawlana Hazar Imam will also grant a Diamond Jubilee Darbar in Lisbon for the Portugal jurisdiction Jamat, in which members from external Jamats will be welcome to join through an online pre-registration process. Once finalized, further details and registration procedures will be communicated to the Jamat globally on the official “the.Ismaili” website.

What all is needed to register As all net savvy jamat will register even if they do not wish to travel to Lisbon just for namesake,excitement etc.
This way it is possible 10%-40% of jamat registering puzzling everybody to issue durbar passes.
Any check & balances, so that genuine visitors do notloose out if there is any draw or lottery for selection and invites.

The Diamond Jubilee Celebration will mark the conclusion of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee year. The celebration in Lisbon is a global event, and will include the International Jubilee Arts Festival, Jubilee Concerts, the Rays of Light and Ethics in Action exhibitions, as well as a a Darbar open to members of the global Jamat.
The Diamond Jubilee Celebration will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, between 05 and 11 July 2018.

Details for Lisbon Darbar
All registrations likely to be accepted.
Preference will be given to Jamaat who wish to opt for Voluntary services as well.
From certain countries which has an expertise in handling large Jamaat, the National Council of these Jamaats have been asked to identify volunteers who can form the core team along with the local core team. These volunteers will start flying to Lisbon in batches starting April, May and June based on their expertise and equirement.
The venue of the Darbar is Feira Internacional de Lisboa which is made of four pavilions interconnected by an outer metal bridge.
The venue can accommodate nearly 50k jamaat, so unless this number is breached, all registrations will be accepted and should not be a problem.
The registration and classification of the Jamaat will be done as follows
Zone A - Lisbon Jamaat and European Union Jamaat [excluding London]
Zone B - Jamaat where Diamond Jubilee Deedar wont be happening
Zone C - Worldwide Jamaat
Zone A and B will get first priority on registration and their count is not expected to be in the range of 15k
Worldwide Jamaat registrations which might be accepted would be around 35k
The Jamaat will nbe seated in the four pavilions with the stage in Pavilion 1
Access to Pavilion 1 will be for Zone A followed by Zone B. Whatever space is remaining and available will accommodate Zone C on first come first served basis only.
Access to Pavilion 2 to 4 will be for Zone C. In these pavilions, the stage will NOT be visible to them as each pavilion is separated by walls. They will be able to see Hazar Imam on the display screens only.

This will 200% to 1500% more than actual goes.
Take in case of India out of total Jamat of 100000,,over 20000 will register ,as there is no fees ,etc.In reality minimum 1000 to max 2500 may go to Lisbon.
This factor concerns me as my family could be genuine applicant..

There should not be any concern of this kind. In fact I have noticed in Canada and India that Ismailis from the resident Jamat who are entitled to Didar have been discouraged to attend and there is so much bureaucracy that many have not attended. Our Senior from the Jamat who are looking at Lisbon as their last Didar in this life will also not attend if they don't get help filling the forms by internet as in many countries these respected Jamati members do not know how to register online and/or do not have access to internet and/or do not use the internet. So if you want to worry, do so for those elders. Ask your Mukhi to set up a desk on Fridays in JK to help people register for Lisbon.

Jubilee Concerts to host two events in Portugal
Two concerts set to dazzle Lisbon, featuring internationally acclaimed artists as never seen before, in a celebration of music this July.
An international Diamond Jubilee initiative, Jubilee Concerts was launched to create a global platform for the Jamat to celebrate this historic occasion through music and to encourage a greater appreciation for music among the Jamat and wider community. Jubilee Concerts is pleased to announce that it has organised two concerts as part of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration in Lisbon from 05 July to 11 July, 2018.
The week-long celebrations will commence with the first Jubilee Concert on 05 July, 2018 called “Kings of Rhythm,” featuring internationally renowned artists Cheb Khaled and the dynamic duo of Vishal-Shekhar. Cheb Khaled, or simply “Khaled,” is an Algerian-born Francophone artist who has entertained millions of fans around the world with legendary songs such as C’est la vie and Didi, the latter performed at the opening ceremony of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Khaled is one of the best-selling Arab artists in history.
Vishal-Shekhar are one of Bollywood’s most entertaining music directors and artists. Vishal Dadlani is regarded today as one of the pioneers of original Indian independent music. Shekhar Ravjiani is a classical singer trained under Ustad Niaz Ahmed Khan. The combination of Khaled and Vishal-Shekhar brings to Lisbon an unparalleled evening of musical performance that will set the celebratory mood for the week-long historic celebration.
On 10 July, 2018, Jubilee Concerts will present “Sufi Voyage,” its closing concert featuring the “King of qawwali” Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, in a specially curated atmosphere, and the musical talents of Salim-Sulaiman, coming together in a must-see performance that will include Bollywood, folk, popular songs, and qawwali – a devotional music style of Muslim mystics. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, nephew of the late legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, is also known for his playback songs in the Bollywood and Pakistani film industries.
Salim-Sulaiman were inspired by their father Sadruddin Merchant, who previously led the Ismaili Scouts Orchestra in India. Salim-Sulaiman have been composing music for over a decade and have also collaborated with South African singer Loyiso Bala and Kenyan singer and songwriter Eric Wainaina to record the anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. This unique combination of artists will be joined by one of Tajikistan’s foremost musicians, Nobovar Chanorov, whose band is known as the Beatles of Tajikistan. This unprecedented combination of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Salim-Sulaiman, and Nobovar will mark the completion of the year-long Jubilee Concerts.

An international Diamond Jubilee initiative, Jubilee Concerts was launched to create a global platform for the Jamat to celebrate this historic occasion through music and to encourage a greater appreciation for music among the Jamat and wider community. Jubilee Concerts is pleased to announce that it has organised two concerts as part of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration in Lisbon from 05 July to 11 July, 2018.
The week-long celebrations will commence with the first Jubilee Concert on 05 July, 2018 called “Kings of Rhythm,” featuring internationally renowned artists Cheb Khaled and the dynamic duo of Vishal-Shekhar. Cheb Khaled, or simply “Khaled,” is an Algerian-born Francophone artist who has entertained millions of fans around the world with legendary songs such as C’est la vie and Didi, the latter performed at the opening ceremony of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Khaled is one of the best-selling Arab artists in history.
Vishal-Shekhar are one of Bollywood’s most entertaining music directors and artists. Vishal Dadlani is regarded today as one of the pioneers of original Indian independent music. Shekhar Ravjiani is a classical singer trained under Ustad Niaz Ahmed Khan. The combination of Khaled and Vishal-Shekhar brings to Lisbon an unparalleled evening of musical performance that will set the celebratory mood for the week-long historic celebration.
On 10 July, 2018, Jubilee Concerts will present “Sufi Voyage,” its closing concert featuring the “King of qawwali” Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, in a specially curated atmosphere, and the musical talents of Salim-Sulaiman, coming together in a must-see performance that will include Bollywood, folk, popular songs, and qawwali – a devotional music style of Muslim mystics. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, nephew of the late legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, is also known for his playback songs in the Bollywood and Pakistani film industries.
Salim-Sulaiman were inspired by their father Sadruddin Merchant, who previously led the Ismaili Scouts Orchestra in India. Salim-Sulaiman have been composing music for over a decade and have also collaborated with South African singer Loyiso Bala and Kenyan singer and songwriter Eric Wainaina to record the anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. This unique combination of artists will be joined by one of Tajikistan’s foremost musicians, Nobovar Chanorov, whose band is known as the Beatles of Tajikistan. This unprecedented combination of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Salim-Sulaiman, and Nobovar will mark the completion of the year-long Jubilee Concerts.
Both concerts will be held at the Altice Arena in Lisbon. Tickets will be on sale soon and details will be announced on this website.

That would give way to abuse on who is allowed to participate and who is not.
As they announced that Lisbon Darbar is open to all so all who could, have booked flight and hotels.
I am sure Hazar Imam does not mind giving 2 Darbars if there are too many people but it would be unreasonable to make arrangement for less than 100,000 people even if only 60,000 comes.
We should not forget that there is an active attempt to discourage people from going to Lisbon by restricting the registration to only people who are computer literate and have access to the Internet, which exclude most of our Seniors and those poor in technology.
I wonder if Imam would be happy with this.

I wouldn't worry as there are co coordinators in many countries who have been given the task to register interested jamat members. So I know in Kenya my sister is registering seniors etc.
I wonder if UK has a similar system ?
It's a really simple form to complete and seniors committees should be approached if help is needed.

Once completed, your registration information will need to be validated by your National Council. Once validated, you will be asked to provide your travel information. Only after you have completed these steps, will your registration be deemed complete

The information you have submitted has been referred for verification by the National Council you have designated. We will notify you upon the completion of the verification process. Until then, your status is PENDING.

Then their database needs to be verified manually as they are not linked to other database. Then what could be a one step registration has many steps: pre-registration request, then pre-registration acceptance (several days or weeks in between), then registration request, registration request acknowledgement, registration acceptance, etc....
One would think that in this 21st Century, Ismailis from the "intellectual" tradition would be on top of the process and would know how to simplify and expedite and how to include all those Murids who want to participate by opening in each JK a one man help desk for Seniors and those poor in technology.
