A friend of mine sent me the following link from the Ottawa Citizen posted in January 2009. It talks about an unfortunate incident that occurred with an Ismaili family. What caught my attention is that the non-Ismaili newswriter, Kelly Egan, briefly talks about how close-knit the Ismaili community is and its willingness to help one another.

News article about an Ismaili family in Ottawa
A 30 year old woman raising 5 children in North America ? guess what? I'm not surprised with her demise.
I'm from Ottawa and I feel sorry for those children, may mowla protect them.
there are some families in Ottawa from (I don't think I should mention the name of pacific area for privacy reasons) which need assistance with family planning and raising children and such. Jamati members' support is there...but there's only so much they can do.
