I would like to know how one concentrates in bandagi? Many years back people used to concentrate on their breath, but I have heard that Hazir Imam doesn't want his spritual children to do so. So can someone tell if that is true. Also, in one of the ginans I read it said a good concentration area is between ur eyebrows...but I have also heard that it is upto the Imam when he wants you to concentrate, ur or my job is only to try and sit in bandagi. Can one give me more information on this.
Thank you
Faisal

Ibaadat Concentration?
Concentration
Here is one way to understand concentration.
In regular life, if you want to concentrate a solution of salt and water for example you dont mess with the salt in it.
You just wait patiently for the water to evaporate from the solution. This automatically concentrates the solution.
If you wait patiently, long enough you may be able to see the actual salt for your self.
In bandagi it is not much different. You want to concentrate on the meaning of the word. Gradually your awareness of everything else diminishes until Inshahallah there is only the meaning remaining.
You then have to have patience, waiting for his grace to percieve the meaning in a sense thats above this world.
(but at that stage you become one with the word to such an extent that it doesn't matter one way or the other)
(Like a girl getting ready for her wedding. She has been dressed by the one who is going to marry her with the wedding garments and ornaments, how does it matter if she looks at herself in the mirror or not)
I am sorry if I am confusing anyone, that is not my intent.

Re: Concentration
That is a nice way to put it! The key to success is GRACE. It is not about the method of concentration. I think as an individual practices more, through grace, his/her body will find the optimum rythum. Concentration only helps to clear the mental dross and prepares the framework for contemplation.shamsu wrote:In bandagi it is not much different. You want to concentrate on the meaning of the word. Baitul Khayal and meditation is only one aspect of Ibaadat. It should provide the strength for Farmanbardari which attracts the GRACE.
