Christian marrying an Ismaili

A friend of mine asked me this question so I'm trying to help him out. His gf is a Christian(catholic). They wish to get married. They live in India.

What is the procedure for the marriage? I told him that she will first need to convert and then there will be a nikah.

Does the Nikahnama from the nikah need to be registered in the marriage court?

They wanted to have a registered marriage also, is this possible or does is it forbidden to do so?
