The Natiq – The Envoy inaugurates a new religious period; he is the Proclaimer (Natiq) of a new Law (Sharia) which he receives through revelation (tanzil). The Natiq enunciates the letter of this text in its exoteric form as positive religion. He establishes the rules of the practical religion, where souls receive their first birth. The Natiq is the spiritual mother of the believers as through him they enter into the physical law of religion, which corresponds with a physical birth. The Six Natiqs represent the six stages of the development a fetus must undergo while in its mother’s womb. The Natiq is usually succeeded by minor Prophets (Nabi) who make periodic modifications to the Sharia for that period.
The Asas –The Asas is the Wasi of the Prophet, as the witness and inheritor of the Prophetic Knowledge. He is also the Wali of God as he is the Foundation (Asas) of the Imamate for the period and possessor of the esoteric meaning (tawil) of the Divine Message. The Asas establishes the spiritual cult through which souls receive their second birth – he is the spiritual father of the believers. The Asas is succeeded by Imams from his progeny, who continue on the spiritual teachings and guide the community. There is no distinction between the Asas and his successor Imams. While Sharia may undergo changes, its hidden meanings are the eternal truths of religion. During the cycle of Muhammad, who was the last Natiq, the Asas and Imams play a vital role in the spiritual development of mankind.
Natiq and Asas; Prophet and Imam
If I have understood it clearly, the exact position of the different types of Prophets (Nabi, Rasool) are as follows:
A Messenger (Rasool) is a Natiq, but regular Prophets (Nabi) is not a Natiq?
All the Imams, starting with Imam Ali, are Asas?
What about Hazrat Hasan ibn Ali?
And then I want to ask about general Prophethood. Some Sufis claim that every human being has the opportunity to become a Prophet (Nabi) (but not a Messenger!). Because these Sufi scholars (e.g. ibn Arabi) had different definition of Prophethood. This has to do with the interpretation of the phrase "The Seal [khatm] of the Prophets". Some explain the word "Seal" as the "finisher, final, end" of Prophethood, while Sufis have interpreted this word as the most "honourable, superior" of the Prophets.
I also once read something about the difference in reading the word "khatm" as "khatem" and "khatim", the first is claimed to mean "the Ender", the last meaning "the Seal". This is especially claimed by Ahmadiyyas and Bahais:
KhatEm in Khatem'un-Nabeein means the Ender of Prophets, or the Seal of Prophets, while, KhatAm in Khatam'un-Nabeein means ring and ornament.

What is the Ismaili view upon this concept?

When Imam Ali was asked about his relationship with the Prophet, the Holy Prophet SAW said:..."..Ali and I are from the same Noor..." Naboowat and Imamat are two sides of the same coin !
When Ali (as) was asked about his relationship with Muhamad SAW, he said: " I am related to Ahmad (the Holy Prophet) just as Light is related to a Light..."
If Muhamad was the Messenger then Ali was the implementor. Nabi came to show the Truth...Ali is the possessor of this Truth !
Muhamad SAW conveyed the revelations ...Ali is the Interpretor.
Muhamad SAW received the Quran...Ali speaks the Quran !
The divine attributes are divided into two groups....namely the jamali and the Jalali...naboowat represents the Jamali and Imamat of Ali and hus pure progeny represents the jalali aspects of the Noor of Allah !
In the Quran the words NOON WAL QALAM - the Ink and the Pen are attributed to Naboowat and the Imamat of Ali respectively...Ink and pen are related to knowledge ! and the verse of the quran corroborates the hadith.." I am the city of knowledge and Ali is the gate and we know that the gate secures and protects the "city" !
