I think you can find the translation of the whole Juni dua (in english) in the rel. education section under Old Dua.

Does anyone know about the respective old Duas of the Syrian and Central Asian Jamats. I suppose they would have it in Arabic and Persian respectively. Who composed them? Did they recite the names of the Imams? I suspect they would not have the names of the Pirs as in the old Dua of the Khojas.

I met Sheikh Khodr Hamawi who is a well respected Ismaili living for the moment in Lebanon but he told me that in the old times when he was in Syria, he used to recited the whole asal du'a in gujrati and he recited for me "dua paro, dua paro.. " exactely as we had it and he stilled remembered it about 10 years ago when I met him..


He was avery joly person. He said to me that once he joined the Druzes in Lebanon and he was asked to teach them one of our religious songs. As he was short of ideas on what to sing to them, he chanted in a very happy tune, "tobo tobo taksirdar, sir ta pa ghunegar" and all or the druzes present followed his singing in choir that night around a firecam...

Interesting! Then in that case it should not be too difficult to introduce Ginans and their associated concepts of Piratan to those jamats. That will eliminate the ambiguity about the Pir and Imam.
