Also read the book written by Syedna Nasir Khusraw and that is "Knowledge and liberation" in English (translated by Dr, Faqir Mohammed Hunzai) or "Gashaish we Rahaish" in persian. Also it Urdu translation is in process ( By Profeesor Dr. Allama Nasir uddin Hunzai)pak wrote:yam

Literature and Metaphysics.
Metaphysics is absolutely important for understanding esotericism in general and Ismailism in particular. As a matter of fact you cannot understand concepts about the Noor of Imamat or Aql-kul without metaphysics. Metaphysics which means theory of knowing must evolve according to the current scientific outlook, i.e it must be based upon current scientific knowledge. In this regard I have reservations about studying thinkers of the past. While we can draw inspiration from them in regard to the essential purpose of knowledge which is the liberation of the soul as per Nasir Khusraw, the contents of his work need to be taken with caution. The physics that he bases his knowledge upon is outdated.
In my opinion there are many books today which are based upon current scientific outlook and which also point to the elevation of the soul and the knowledge of the ultimate truth as their objective. Indeed, I believe this is one of the strengths of pluralism, i.e. to be able to share and acquire useful knowledge across religions. If I were to recommend the best and most readable books, I would say that the works of late Dr Paul Brunton are the best. This is because that are simple and readable and yet are based upon modern science and are anchored in the quest for higher life. I have been told that MHI had recommended indivividuals to read his works.
Dr Brunton embarked upon the quest early last century and passed away in the mid last century. He travelled across India and Egypt and gave his account of all the interesting encounters with sages, magicians, yogis, fakirs etc. Nasir Khusraw also travelled a great deal. In this regard his books, "In Search of Secret India" and "In Search of Secret Egypt" are very interesting and enjoyable. He then goes on to write works on metaphysics. Three of his books are worth reading in this regard in my opinion. They are "The Hidden Teaching Beyond Yoga", "The Wisdom of the Overself" and "The Essays on the Quest".
I would also recommend the book "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda. This has been one of the best sellers and has been translated into many languages. This is also a book about quest and contains chapters on metaphysics based upon current scientific outlook which find resonance in our Ginans.

Gujrati only
Girbavali is available only in Gujrati. The language is quite complicated with most of it being in sanskrit. It is not very long but talking about each line in it can take a whole day. If it is read without someones guidance it is almost impossible to understand. Knowledge of Hindu names for Imam, Pir etc. is necessary.
There is just one place that I know where this can be obtained from. Houston TX, savooy restaurant , there is a gift shop to the right of the restaurant as you face the restaurant.
You would ask for the blue ginan book with ruhani ginans. This book has most of the ruhani ginans of Pir Sadardeen and Pir Hasankabirdeen.

These contain English transliterations and translations of Imam SMS's Farmans on "Momin Ane Ruh", "Imamat ane Iman" and "Ishk ane Ibaadat". Translated by Mohamed and Zaitun Sachedina._thaillestlunatic_ wrote:what about Imam SMS farmans
