Re: Love for Imam
Love is like a plant which will be grown when there will be sunlight, watering etc. One should say Dua regularly on time, read books of Farmans and Ginans to grow love for Hazir Imam.samirziz wrote:This may have been asked before but how do we ismaili's grow our Love for the Imam. That is correct, but also one should too read Qassida, Quran-i-Sharif, do Meditation, have faith and pay Zakat. Then Inshallah if Allah(swt) will, our Love will increase and become strong for the Bloved Imam<3, then you will achieve your Salvation
Hazrat Pir Sadardeen (Peace be upon him) said:
IN YOUR HEART SOW A SEED OF DIVINE LOVE AND POUR THE WATER OF IBADAT ON IT SO THAT THE FRUIT THAT YOU ACHIEVE WILL BE HIS DIDAR.
The Book of Etiquette Necessary for Followers of the Imams
You are referring to al-Qadi al-Nu‘mn? Kitab al-himma fi adab atba‘ al-a’immaMilikbekAlibek wrote:
Ya Ali Madad,
I would like to ask for the book of Al Nouman "Kitab-ul-Himma fi Adabi Ataba-el-A`emma" in English or Persian if possible.
Thanks
"The Book of Etiquette Necessary for Followers of the Imams" might not be available in English. I was able only to locate an Arabic edition, which is luckily recent: Numam ibn Muammad, Ab anfah and arr Mu ammad Sharf Al al-aman. 1996. Kitāb Al-Himmah Fī Ādāb Atb immah. 1st ed. Bayrūt: Dār al-Aḍwāʾ.
If anyone is able to locate an English version, I'd sure like to know. He died in 974 AD and his other works are fascinating.
I have seen the English translation of Numan's book.
We should not forget that obedience to the Imam precedes the rules of etiquette.
Etiquette changes according to the time and the place. Culture is one of the factor.
In Canada during Golden Jubilee Darbar the Imam said He likes that the Jamat laughed with him. The Jamat therefore should be spontaneous and laugh at Imam's jokes, not restrain itself according to rules of etiquette dating 1,000 years in some far away country. Time change and this is why we have an Imam-of-The-Time so we are not stuck in the past. We have to remain the Children of our Time - Ibn'ul Waqht, as per our beloved Prophet's [PBUH] instructions.
The Imam mentioned in that Darbar that even today he would not do the jokes in some cultures and some countries. Therefore uniformity in the etiquette during Darbar across countries and cultures is not a very brilliant idea.

Ya 'ALI' Madad and 'Salam'

There is an English translation of The Code of Conduct by Qadi Noman. I purchased it from the Jamat Khana library for $2 or $3. So it's not very expensive. There were few waezes that took place preceding the Golden Jubilee Darbar and this book was recommended then. So I purchased it about a year ago and if I remember it right, it's a tiny book of about 25 pages. You should be able to purchase it from your local Jamat Khana library stalls too as I have seen them in available in numerous Jamat Khanas.
