In my opinion about this is that our local and tariqa jamat of Dar es salaam it self they are not helping student. We are ignored because we are poor and then when we tell them we need help for education they say we do not have funds plus they are trying to force us to study locally were by if you see they own kids they were already send study into internationally institution or university although that field is there in our own local institution and university but they send they children into international institution.

Now i am here in Malaysia i do not have even father that he can help and with the blessing of Mowlana Hazar Imam i am still fine and now i got chance to enter into Canadian institution even our local council from there they had reply me that since i am not citizen of Canada so they cant help me.

So today our own members of council and tariqa why are they ignoring us student for the education. And Mowlana Hazar Imam even said in last dedar that we should fight for international education then why we student we are getting negative respond in middle of our education. And we both of us we have even prove of letter stating that they are forcing us to do locally were by they own children they had send them for internationally institution.

Finally if i have done any mistaken into this email then please do forgive me and please i need your help for funds so that i can continue my education were i have been accepted into Canadian institution. And thats is what we student we are facing problem from our own local and tariqa big problem.Plus just to add that even my elder brother who wants to do Masters in Computer science and he had total CGPA of 3.25 but stil he had been refused by our Council and Tariqa for help and even AKEST now tell me is it right that we student we should be trite by our community members like that.

Hey Alykhan;
I was in the same boat as u aprox 10 years ago, i am also from TZ originaly, i was also told that the Ismaili Council in UK can only help UK citizens and TZ council doesn't have any funds. I was offfered a place in University and the tuition fees for international student was too much there was no way i could afford even if i worked full time. Don't pin any hope on ourTariqa board they will only help u if u or ur family members have influence or either one of ur relative is a member of a Tariqa board.

In my case i prayed to mowla to give me strength and i moved ahead ,,,,,,,, and now with MHI grace i finished University without any support from Ismaili Council and now i am well settled in Canada and have a decent job, a wife and a mortgage lol. MHI thats why made a farman to UK jamat indicating there is so much individuality in our community, Us Ismailis we are not United like the way the SIKHS and JEWS are. email me at [email protected] if u want and i'll be more then happy to advice u on how i tackled the my obstacles

Regards
Mfalme

I am sorry about the hardships both of you went through :(

I hope all is well now, however, I do like to point out that sometimes circumstances are shuch that even the traiqa and council can't help us. I pray that Allah protect Ismailis all around the world and I pray for brotherhood and sisterhood and for muskhil ashan...ameen

The community would surely benefit from reading various treatises by Pir Shihab uddin and Khomini on "The greater jihad" with nafs.

I hear all kinds of stories ... people dying at the age of 25 ... a very unintelligent community ... that is why there is so much tussle on social space and possibly fear of dissent .... even if it is constructively meant.

Well the Firman by Imam SMS should be posted in big letters about the gujjurati khojas and their jealousies.

please read my articles in the doctrine section and also the treatise by Ruhollah Khomeini, some vides on khomeini's life 10 part series and video interviews by Hassan Nasrallah and their amazing unity and discipline would indeed benefit you. these are all on youtube. the admin will delete the links from a pang of jealousy even though it will give positive benefit in real sense. The medicine can be bitter but an effective cure, but only for mature to swallow, not a juvenile.

Mawla Ali Madad
Uganda,

Seriously..since you spout more and more of the Ayatollah's material and his lines to us...and you apparently seem to have a bone to pick against my Khwaja brethren - calling them jealous and can not bear censorship...why don't you join them?

To the others..
I understand your pain and understand your trials and tribulations - however I am glad that you are struggling to overcome your barriers and your hurdles...
I don't know a lot about institutions..but being familiar with some of the issues facing them...there are times where there are financial issues that the institutions also face - at times it's a choice of ensuring a few families housing/food/basic education versus paying for one persons advanced studies....
of all the ismailies that have come out to the West and done well for themselves..how many look back and help other individual ismailies - by paying fees? or even remitting a simple $25.00 or $50.00 a month to support some of the activities in the 3rd world - i.e. Fidai Girls Hostel in India? the Widow House and old Rest house in Dar? or the asylum in Moshi/Arusha?..... seriously - we are all raising these issues - what are we as individuals doing to help our brothers?
as Hazar Imam has said:
"GO OUT OF YOUR WAY. INCONVENIENCE YOURSELVES TO HELP ANOTHER ISMAILI."
(Sorry for the paraphrase)

The biggest issue presently our community facing is frequently use of drugs (China wine, desi wine extracted from grapes and araq from mulberry, smoking, charas, heroin, spirit etc. etc.) by our new generation irrespective of literate or illiterate. If our institutions (local councils, ITREB) and elites fail to control on it, one day the whole community would be on the verge of collapse. I'm bringing this serious issue to the kind notice of our beloved Hazir Imam, our whole institutions and whole community leaders to put a complete ban on drug usage. Unfortunately nobody is ready to listen and pay heed to the Farmans of our Imam-e-Zaman. Look! God has destroyed those nations, who had disobeyed the teachings of their messenger. Now the same situation is with the ismaili community. Please come on and wake up and do something before it's too late. Families and people are converting to Wahabism because of their preaching and for monetary benefits. Already there are splits and fractions in our community and there is no need to mention here.
