In the ginan Gat Maa(n)he aaveene veeraabhai by Pir Sadardeen, there is a line which says, " ...aapnnee naat chhoddeene parnaat vahevaar na keeje." The translation to this according to Ismaili FIELD is, "Leaving our community, do not have relationship with members of other communities."
I was told that this line tells us NOT to marry non-Ismailis and or those that are not part of our community. If this is so, why are there Ismaili's who marry non-Ismailis? And why do our Jamati leaders accept these marriages if Pir Sadardeen told us not to do so?
Thank You...

Mairrage Between A Non_ismaili And Ismaili
The key phrase is 'leaving our community'. So long as one is still a member of our Jamat, he/she can have relations with others. MHI has told us often not to be inward looking. During his GJ Mulaqats with the Jamat, MHI met with non-Ismaili spouses as well, perhaps an indication that they are a 'bridge' with other communities...
