The ceremony of Pithi has nothing to do with Ismaili faith. Its just a ritual or practice which people of India/Pak follow because of cultural factors. There isn't any significance from religious point of view.

first of all, all this celebration of marriage included pithi, mehndi and others are accultured from Hindu practices and we continue what our forefathers did before embracing Ismaili faith. regarding pithi dress, it common to hear that it gives to sis or any other family member who is unmarried because it believe that when someone wear bridal dress, there marriage will become early and they get blessings from bridal through this way. this is what i heard.
