They say that date is going to be the end of the world. I have a feeling that that there might be some changes (as the world is always changing (entropy)), but I wanted to know if that date is mentioned in the Ginans or is there a Ismaili take on this?

I just typed in 2012 prophecy into google and a video of came up (something from history channel) and apparently many religions believe that that date is significant. It is also significant scientifically b/c the Earth will complete its "wobble"--this happens every 26,000 years and also the sun will align with something--i don't remember.

Hmm...I feel if one is on the right path, i really don't think any kind of troubles can harm us !! no matter how much tough it's on our surrounding.
I heard today a farman of 1964 where MHI said that my jamat is far happier than those who have unlimited wealths...and it has become a burden than blessing for them...I dont remember word to word but its similar to it.

The title of the 51st Imam will be the Mehdi - the battle will be the Armageddon mentioned in the Bible, the 51st Imam will be recognized as the Messiah by the Jews as well. The event where the Imam will be crowned king of the world is referred to in the Ginans as Aswari.
The period of peace will be 125,000 years..not 100 years.

The period of peace will start after aswari which is still well over a century from now as per the ginans. Keep an eye on the chinese army..when it reaches 3.6 million..then start to worry

Umm...has Imam Sultan Mohammad Shah ever referred to such kind of war where most of the world's population will be destroyed? Cos my aunty told me that once he said that one day a time will come where this world would be divided and 1/3 sort of population would be destroyed. I dont remember exact.

You are right Adnan Ali. You can see that when 2000 year was started, the world trade centre was destroyed, which had effected whole world, which is the cause of War between America and Iraq.
I think that last 100 year's has been started. We can see that in just 8 year's crime has reached to much extend, we can't imagine. Everyday people are killing due to bomb blast or assaults. Take an example of Pakistan, Even America is loosing its economic wealth, Crime is increasing in America as well.
Everyone know's that one day Pakistan will be united again, There will be peace in pakistan. I had heard that Hazar Imam said in his farman that :
"People will face alot of plagues in future, but one day there will be peace"
(I am not remember the date and real words said by imam)

My astronomy professor was telling my class about this theory a few weeks ago. Apparently, he has done a lot of research on this topic and believes the world is really going to end on dec. 21. I think it's called a THEORY for a reason. Personally, I can't wait until that day. If the Y2K hoopla wasn't crazy enough, this ought to be something! =D
