Yo ALi Madad brothers and sisters!
I have a question. At the time of Mowlana Jafar Al-Sadiq (AS) did the shia community believe Imam Hasan or Imam Hussein was the second Imam? Who was the second Imam during that time?
Question
Ya Ali Madad
You have posed an interesting question. My understanding of the history of the origins of Shism is that the notion of Imamat was not very clear at the outset at Ghadir-e-Khum. There would have been many strands of interpretation ranging from purely political/social to purely spiritual role of Imamat.
Since the inception there would have been a minority that would have been aware of the appointment of Imam Husein as the Imam after Hazarat Ali and because of the socio/political conditions of the time, this event would have been overshadowed by Imam Hassan's Khilafat and which would have been favourable to the majority of the Shia.
So the varying interpretations and differences would have existed until the notion of Imamat as hereditory one passing from father to son/grandson was crystallized in the doctrine of 'nass' promulgated by al Baqir.
So the split that occured after Imam Jaffer-as- Sadiq was not only regarding which of the sons was a legitimate Imam, but rather the manifestation of the fundamental difference on the concept of Imamat. The majority (those that ended up being the 12vers) would not have accepted the notion of the difference in the roles of Imam Mustaqarr and Imam Mustawda for eaxmple.

Pir Shams in Ginan Eji duniya preet keejiye says that
Eji Purkh nari aik chey aney jhajhwa chey ghat halo chalo sarvey aik chey soho dharam ni vaat.
That means that men and women are one [equal status] although they are made differently [or have different looks] but the way to follow the religion is same for both.

kmaherali thank you, I have a question though.
It says in the constitution on the succession of Imamat, '... it being the absolute prerogative of the Imam of the time to appoint his successor from amongst any of his male descendants whether they be sons or remoter issue.'
Does this mean that the Imam can also be his daughters son? Or even his own brother(if he were to have one)? Also, what did the constitution say that was formed by Imam Jafar as Sadiq(AS) on the succession of Imamate?
