Two Angels- For Counting Deeds, Both Good and Bad.

I have heard there are two angels on either side of our shoulders, one counts good deeds and the other counts bad deeds.. just wondering if

1. is it true?

2. Are there any references to show evidence of these angels?

This subject is discussed extensively with references in the thread on angels under Doctrines Section. Essentially there are angles with many roles. The categorization that you have alluded to is one of the manifestations of the many ways of looking at and understanding angelic influences and roles.
