Question for Syrian or Afghani Ismaili's

Post by southyam »

Hello,

I'm an Ismaili of Indian background living in Canada.

I'm curious to know in a historical context, what has been the Afghani OR Syrian tradition as far as tithe is concerned. Are their any documentation or literary sources in your language(s) which deal with tithe in the Ismaili context?

I'm basically trying to see if the dasond of the Khoja community is vastly different from the Afghani Ismaili or Syrian Ismaili tradition.

Historically what has been the tradition of the Afghani and Syrian Jamat as far as tithe (in khroja context called dasond)?

hi<BR>i am an afghan youth, and regarding your question about Dasond, we have been giving Dasond to the Imam during the past years in history. as you know that we did not have Councils and Jamatkhanas to give our dasonds, but we had Mukhis being chosed by mawlana hazir imam and we give our Dasonds Which we&nbsp;call it Da Yak which means o&shy;ne of tenth. and this is the way we paid our dasonds
